How can your second round (SKU) of noise-cancelling headphones stand out? How can you get consumers to notice your brand first? Even if you do whip up a storm with an original feature, how will you ensure that people are still demanding your headphones a month down the line? With such a high-innovation rate in an ever-developing industry, real and regular reviews are essential.
We can find tech bloggers or Music Engineering students to review your product. Let them do your marketing for you. Their reviews will summarise your technological USPs in a way that your main market will understand. Making high-tech USPs digestable for the average consumer, is a MUST.
We did just that for Plantronics. Their BackBeat PRO 2 was up against some stiff competition from other brands’ models, but we found Plantronics the perfect reviewers. This helpd them sell 60% more samples, boost their e-tailer ranking and even win the Best Review award on a major Dutch price comparison site. Here’s how it happened:

Bluetooth and Noise Cancelling are the latest features on modern headsets, but I don’t want to pay too much for this. In the market, prices for these type of headphones range from about 125 to 375 Euro. The Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2 is in the middle of this range. So what do you get for this price? The BackBeat PRO makes an easy connection with multiple Bluetooth transmitters and allow you to shift easily from listening to music on the tablet, to taking a phone call (both Samsung devices). It’s a turntable on the left ear and does not work intuitively. You need to look for the right moment to switch and turning it too hard or too soft is easily done. Besides that, I am satisfied with the Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2. I hope to enjoy it for many years!
