Kinetic Sand is something of a miracle. It’s a bit like Play-Doh except when your child mashes it up all together, it remains one colour. Needless to say, it’s a massive hit with the kids. Spin Master – a Canadian Global Toy company – brought the product to the market and asked us to find the right reviewers to test and review it on kieskeurig.nl. But there was one catch. This was no ordinary children’s toy. Spin Master wanted us to find extraordinary children to test their Kinetic Sand Beach Box. They had a social mission for their product, and believed their kinetic sand would really appeal to kids who score from mild to severe on the autistic spectrum. We simply loved this assignment, and jumped straight in. We began by sending out an email to our community, asking parents with autistic children to respond. Within 24 hours we had 216 parents sign up. For the campaign, we only needed 20 families, so it was a really tough selection. Eventually, we found our testers and sent them Spin Master’s Kinetic Sand. Within 3 weeks we collected 59 heartwarming stories about autistic kids who came to life when playing with Spin Masters kinetic sand. Fun fact: if Spin Master had to achieve this themselves, they would have needed to sell more than 6000 of the products within a couple of weeks, and only hope that some of the parents who bought it would have kids on the autistic spectrum.
