I discarded my old over-ear hardwired headphones after about 10 years because the ear cushions were worn out. I had to look for something new and modern. Bluetooth and Noise Canceling are the latest features on a headset, but I don’t want to pay too much. On the market, prices for this type of headphones range from about 125 to 375 Euro. The Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2 is in the middle of this range. So what do you get for this price? Beautiful, robust headphones. Good fit. Relatively heavy, but still comfortable to wear. The BackBeat PRO makes an easy connection with multiple Bluetooth transmitters and allows you to shift easily from listening to music on the tablet, to taking a phone call. (both Samsung devices). The noise I hear on Bluetooth speakers is not heard on the BackBeat PRO. The sound is good, beautiful deep basses combined with natural high tones. While listening, you can turn on the microphone to get involved with any conversations around you. However, with a little echo on the microphone sound. If you want to turn of surround sounds, just turn on Noise Canceling. The effect of this is that the low external tones are eliminated. The high external tones remain audible in the background, but I have not experienced it as disturbing. The only thing I find a bit disappointing is the volume control of the sound and the microphone. It’s a turntable on the left ear and does not work intuitively. You need to look for the right moment to switch and turning it too hard or too soft is easily done. Besides that, I am satisfied with the Plantronics BackBeat PRO 2. I hope to enjoy it for many years!.
